2. Certification. Penn Yan Aero is a Part 145, FAA Approved Repair Facility and also an EASA Repair Station. This certification means that Penn Yan Aero continuously meets or exceeds the FAA's tightly regulated Type 145 standards and has on-going training, quality control, formal testing programs and documentation standards. 6. Quality Control. All Penn Yan Aero overhauled engines are meticulously assembled to OEM new fits and tolerances and fully tested in accordance with data approved by or acceptable to the FAA and OEM Factory Workshop Manual. Each engine is mounted in one of our test cells with an appropriate test club and test run for a minimum of 1.5 hours. Each engine is run through its entire RPM Range and is run at full power for a constant 30 minutes while the following indices are monitored: Oil Pressure; Oil Temperature; Fuel Flow; Fuel Pressure; Crankcase Pressure; Manifold Pressure; Cylinder Head Temperature; Exhaust Gas Temperature (Turbo Models Only). At the end of the run we perform a Magneto Drop Test, check the oil and oil filter, and compression. The test results are documented and filed with the engine's paperwork.
